Dream (new album 2024)

Since a new album was announced during the recent Ely concert, and is to be released in autumn in time for the Japanese tour at the end of October no doubt, I thought it would be fun to discuss what we might have in store!

I'll update this post and the title of this thread as we obtain more information, but for now we don't yet know much of anything about the album. Still, we can safely say that there will be at least three new songs, the very three new ones that were performed at the latest concert in Ely.
  • Sea Bird.
  • The Lark's Last Song
  • One Small Voice
Based on discussions in the concert thread, and given that "Twilight" has made a comeback, I believe it's reasonable to assume that this song could possibly also be featured on the new album; though that's far less certain to my mind then the three brand new songs.

Now it's my opinion that we may have been spoiled on the last album with more brand new songs than what we would typically get. So while I do like being spoiled in this way , I'm hesitant to be that optimistic for this album given the history ;) On "Forever" we got 9 of 13 songs (69%) being brand new at the time, while on "If" we had 6 of 15 (40%) being brand new. All-time low was "Beyond" with only like 2 completely brand new songs. This is of course not counting the Christmas album because, in my personal opinion, that's a separate category of album that Libera puts out; though there were many brand new songs (as recorded by them anyway) on that too.

With that said, I think it's fair to expect at least one or two more brand new songs that we've yet to hear from them out of a possible maximum of about 12 to 15 total tracks on the album. We know they frequently record songs on albums that they won't perform in concert, so there's always some surprises waiting for us.

What do you all think? Will we be getting a lot of new songs or perhaps this will be more of a compilation type of album? Perhaps more songs composed by Josh as seems to be the trend? Maybe more arrangements by Sam of already existing songs?

Yeah when they bring songs back into concerts after a hiatus that is usually indicative of the song possibly making it onto the next album. So maybe you're right!

We also can't assume that 100% of the upcoming album was recorded over their recent spring break. They may have recorded some tracks last year as well. They have been known to do this in the past. Luca performed the Caccini "Ave Maria" last summer, so I'm wondering if they recorded it. In light of his recent album release, I would rather hear his voice on something more interesting than the Caccini.

Stay with me and I am the day " were recently sung during live concerts, so I wouldn't be surprised if they were re recorded 20 years after their first release. What about Dies Irae? I think it deserves to be recorded again, as long as Recordare that I expect to hear in their 2025 album

Excellent idea.

Call me suspicious, but I don't see why Twilight got resurrected after all these years if not to put on the new album so I would bet good money on that one and also Salva Me.

Ahead of the launch of the Peace album I posted a list of possible names for what was then an unnamed album - Peace was on that list of possible names and so were Beyond and Forever - so for the non-Christmas and non-live albums it got three out of the next five album titles which isn't bad :D

I'm picking 'Twilight'
for the next album title but I'll post a separate list of suggested album names that we can all add to - maybe we can offer a signed CD as a prize if somebody picks the correct album title.

So what will the next album be called? Here is a starter list for you but feel free to suggest some of your own and we can add them in:

Single word titles:

Ascent, Celestial, Divine, Dream(s)/Dreaming, Dusk, Echoes, Enchanted/Enchantment/Enchanting, Ethereal, Fantasy, Gloria, Grace, Harmony, Imagine, Innocence, Inspire/Inspiring, Light, Paradise, Pure, Radiance, Reflection(s), Reverie, Sacred, Salvation, Sanctuary, Sanctus, Secret, Serenity, Sing, Tranquille/Tranquillity, Twilight, Voice(s)

I could put together some multiple-word titles but given that the only albus from Libera to contain two words or more in their titles are either Live recordings or Christmas albums I think it unlikely they will go with that.

I'm awful with creative things like this  so let's see what ChatGPT has to say on the subject, eh?

I had the AI do it twice.

Definitely an overlap with Yorkie's list which begs the question of whether we should rely on man or machine.

Nope, I thought as it was back on the rotation it had to be a possibility, even if a slim one. I wouldn't pick it mind you.

I'm liking the idea of twilight. It's back on the song rotation, and in October it will have been exactly 20 years since the album that it was first on, was released.

Well, they sort of whisper in the song "I am the Day" so let's go with Sacred Whispers. They can include some incense and mind-altering substances as well.

Songs of the Seraphim?
Didn't Tchaikovsky release that in 1878? If it's the number I'm thinking of it would be an incredible challenge to adapt it into something Libera could sing.
