Hi everyone,
A little madness tonight : "What song do you imagine Libera singing?"

Let me explain...
I'm still discovering Libera through their many songs (Thank you Libera Passion for this exhaustive list https://libera-passion.exprimetoi.net/t ... bera#26871
Their sources of inspiration are so broad (sacred, liturgical, and heroic chant, but also a lot of classical, more traditional, personal compositions, and many more!),
I had fun imagining songs by my favorite artists, sung by Libera once they had arranged them!

Have you ever asked yourself this question? If so, which song or music ?
all style allowed!

I'll start with Jeanne Added, a French artist who studied extensively at the Royal Academy of Music in London. With her song "Falling Hearts," which speaks of emotional healing and resilience, or "Mutate," which speaks of the A quest for self, for inner transformation, magnificently performed here with a philharmonic orchestra. I could easily imagine an arrangement with a slower pace and appropriate vocal harmonies!

Bright eyes. A beautiful, heartbreaking song by Art Garfunkel for the British animated film “Watership Down” (adapted from a book by the same name).

Then there’s the classic “If Ye Love Me” by Thomas Tallis.

And, since I’m a HUGE John Rutter fan I would love Libera to perform some of his compositions. They’ve already recorded For the Beauty of the Earth, though that was over 30 years ago ago when Daren Geraghty (there he is below) was a member of Angel Voices.

Among my Rutter favourites is This is the Day.

And the GORGEOUS All Bells in Paradise (for Christmas). This would allow the Bigs to be more involved, which I think Libera sometimes miss a trick by not doing a little more of.

Good choices ! I'd love to hear them sing another spiritual in the vein of "Poor Little Jesus"

This one is called "There is a Balm in Gilead" and features a prominent treble solo. Here's a sample of it sung by the Saint Thomas Choir NYC.

There was a snippet of a song in the 1998 film "Wide Awake" that I've always wished could have been expanded and sung by Libera. It's called Gloria by soundtrack composer Edmund Choi and sung by The American Boychoir (R.I.P.).

It's the third song on his web page: https://www.edmundchoi.com/wideawake

The movie itself is well worth a watch (you can rent it on YouTube for about $4). It was M. Night Shyamalan's first major film and has a Shyamalan twist near the end that'll warm your heart and might even bring a tear to your eye.

"Rosie O'Donnell, Denis Leary, Dana Delany and Joseph Cross star in this feel-good comedy about the laughter, excitement and fun that comes with being a kid! Joshua (Cross) is a thoughtful ten-year-old looking for some simple answers to life's eternal questions. The problem is that no one - including his concerned parents (Leary, Delany) and his colorful 5th-grade teacher (O'Donnell) - seems to be making any sense. Therefore, Joshua makes it his personal mission to unravel the mysteries himself. . . and in the process reminds everyone what it's like to wake up to the world for the very first time. With great performances from an incredible cast, you'll love all the comedy and adventure in this unforgettable motion picture."
