Hello! New one here!

Post by Colin »

Hello everybody,

because it's my first post, it's logical to introduce myself. First, I want to apoligize for my english because it's not my native language.

My name is Colin and I'm from Belgium. I live in Gent (about 60km from Brussels).
I study in Leuven at the John XXIII-seminary, so if you figured i'm a seminarian.

When I was 12 years old I joined the only boys choir we have in Belgium, Cantate Domino, and I was a member till last year. So, I've been singing more then 11 years with the choir. First as a boy soprano, later on as counter-tenor.
Now you can understand my interest in boy-choirs.

How did I get to know Libera? Well, I heard them singing 'all things bright and beautiful' on Youtube and I went on to see more videos of them.
Then, I bought the DVD of the Leiden concert. That was about 4 months ago.
I really was amazed to hear them singing so beautiful. I was moved by the way classical music can sound and be made 'modern' without destroying the music. In november I went to the London concert of the UK autumn tour! Amazing!

I found this forum because someone told me about it on mini-angels blogspot.
So, that's about it!

Welcome, I was also at there London (St Georges concert.)

It was my first Libera concert to, and what an amazing experience that was.

Always good to see new members here, i'm a fairly new member myself.

There is a lot of good up to date information on here, and the people are very friendly as well.

Ill look forward to reading your posts.

Paul.

Hello Colin,

Welcome to the site! I just joined on 31 Dec, so I'm a newbie too. I sure you will love it here as much as I do. Everyone on the site is very friendly :)

If you look through the many forum posts, you will find a wealth of information about Libera and their music.

I've never been to a concert yet, but hope to go soon.

Hi Colin.

What's the punishment for cutting class in Seminary and travelling to London for a concert? I say go for it - I'm sure they will forgive you.

And your English is excellent by the way. Now, don't wish to cause offence (not sure which part of Belgium you come from), but If French is a language you speak there is a French fan site that is sort of a sister site to ours.....

Colin!!!!!!!!!! You joined! Yea! :D Hope you like it here!

Everyone needs to know that Colin is kinda famous, although he'll say he isn't. He was in Cantate Domino, a boy's choir from Belgium. They recorded CD's and toured the world!

Hope you get to go to Epsom btw! :D

Not at all Colin; I know a little bit about Belgian politics and history (well so far as the language/cultural divide goes).
