Nahh, I had a cold, but now I have the flu, I think.
I suppose the people of France and quite a bit of Africa aren't of any importance?
Just kidding! The paper is on why Mesopotamia was the first civilization... And I've got it all written except for the conclusion. I just haven't figured out what I'm concluding.... Which makes me think it's probably not a very good paper...

Ah, but most of the Quebecois of Canada think that they are the centre of the universe.libera36 wrote:Nahh, I had a cold, but now I have the flu, I think.I suppose the people of France and quite a bit of Africa aren't of any importance?

'Let me go where'er I will,
I hear a sky-born music still:
It sounds from all things old,
It sounds from all things young,
From all that's fair, from all that's foul,
Peals out a cheerful song.'

Oh you are not wrong. Met a few of them in Cuba. They have all the worst faults of the French but with none of the virtues!tcenrt wrote:Ah, but most of the Quebecois of Canada think that they are the centre of the universe.libera36 wrote:Nahh, I had a cold, but now I have the flu, I think.I suppose the people of France and quite a bit of Africa aren't of any importance?

Sadly it is an era I know nothing about so you are on your own I'm afraid. Now, if you ever need to know about the history of flat caps in Yorkshire, I'm your manlibera36 wrote:Nahh, I had a cold, but now I have the flu, I think.I suppose the people of France and quite a bit of Africa aren't of any importance?

You don't know! LOL - well, it is a traditional hat worn (usually by working class men) in the north of England. It's a traditional stereotype that a Yorkshireman wears a flat cap, has a whippet dog, races pigeons and puts ferrets down his trousers (I kid you not).libera36 wrote:What precisely is a 'flat cap'??

This will make you chuckle - at about 2.10 you see the lad wearing one and then from 2.20 the blokes in the outside toilets are wearing them.

This outside dance sequence was filmed in my home town
