So, I just watched the two films mentioned above! two very pleasant moments! good surprise for the Boychoirs, i didn't know it.
(Little anecdotes, the castle where the film "Chorists" was filmed was located 30 minutes from my old home!)

Concerning the PCCBs, I would have the pleasure of going to see them in 10 days! (Next Friday) near Autun. This will be my first concert for a boy's choir.
The second will (also be for the PCCB :) ), they have just announced a date in October in my village of Montbrison!! What luck!
Something to keep me busy while I try to organize my possible trip for Libera on December 1st!

I attended a pccb concert last night, my first concert by a choir!
It was the fourth of their current tour.
Thirty boys made up the choir and sang two parts of about forty minutes.

It was a great experience, but very different from what Libera offers! And it was cool.
Concerning the atmosphere, we were in a collegiate church in a small town of 15,000 inhabitants, there must have been 250 spectators seated in the collegiate church. No light show, no mixing desk, only one microphone for the announcements. Musically no orchestra. The songs were sung a capella or only accompanied by the Piano.
I found the vocal mastery of the choir to be generally good with very different voices and styles, from Soprano to low (types?)
The first part was composed of sacred music and the second part rather classical and traditional. Much less haaaaaaa, haaaaaa than Libera! 😉

On two rather traditional titles, the choir leader invited the audience to sing the chorus at the same time as the choir! I found the idea quite original and welcome! (It must be said that the title in question was very popular in France and lent itself well to singing along!)

On the animation, the young people are very static, always with their hands behind their backs, when they sing and when they move around the stage. It's a shame they give the impression of being tense and stiff. I think that must not be practical for singing.

I appreciated the availability of the young singers who were in contact with the audience during the intermission but also at the end of the concert. It was easy to chat with them. And some were holding the souvenir merchandise stand.

Surely due to lack of means or perhaps by the desire to maintain relations with religious practitioners,
but the young singers, after the concert, were welcomed into a local host family to rest and spend the night. They attended the church service the next morning in the same collegiate church, before taking the bus back to their next concert.

Here is a short summary of a completely novice point of view! The aim was not to compare with Libera, because the style is very different.
It should also be noted that the pccb is a mercantile organization, that is to say a children's choir attached to a cathedral or an important parish. The choir is managed by the clergy. It is a school of life that provides children with a complete school education in boarding school, from primary school to the end of middle school (from 8 to 17 years old approximately) integrating singing, music, but also all the religious aspects that are attached to it.

in short, it was a great experience!

I totally agree with you ! and I will be able to confirm it in a few more days

And yet... your remark comes at the right time Surpinto!
Because they sometimes take inspiration from Libera:
Tonight while looking for concert excerpts, I found Carols of the Bell, sung by the PCCB, but not just any version!
This is indeed Robert P's adaptation, sure! and rather well performed!
maybe you already knew that

Good job by this choir, especially considering that they are singing in what is to them a foreign language and a complicated arrangement!

I finally watched the concert :D I can't believe they had to re-start a song because a phone was ringing  I hope the person whose phone rang felt ashamed enough.

This is a very good concert ! They are getting better again. Their choirmaster is definitely good :D
Nice atmosphere too, many soloists, smiles (!) and the Arirang with the audience is lovely. Great job from the boys.

I'm looking for an opportunity to see a concert in Paris or nearby...
