Are you ready to go to the Ireland? (July 2009)

Oh, so do I! Is there any information as to when the concert will be broadcast? I would love to listen to it, with all those new soloists, and apparently Josh and Liam sounded very good as well (which is as usual, but still I wish to hear them). It would be a first chance to hear the "new" generation of Libera!heeh91 wrote:i really hope we who are not in ireland will be able to hear the concert on the radio!

I think I have read in one of the other fan site that some of the boys' parents are having some concerns, and that's one of the reasons that there's no meet and greet.

I hear a sky-born music still:
It sounds from all things old,
It sounds from all things young,
From all that's fair, from all that's foul,
Peals out a cheerful song.'

This is not shocking. At Arundel some of the people behind the scenes seemed to have a chip on there shulder about some of the people at the concerts. I think its a well know fact a choir like Libera brings out some of the odd balls sadly and the parents should have concerns for the safety of there kids. I have heard of at least 3 different alarming stories about some of the boys and some of the wacko older male fans.

I know when I was at the Crystal Cathedral. One of the adults, Barbara Geraghty I believe, was constantly asking people who were getting their pictures taken with the boys to not touch them. There are really some weirdos out there and I think it's ok for Libera to take these extra precautions. Granted from the other meet and greets that i've seen online the southern Cali ones were quite different since a lot of the boys were walking around asking for donations to help offset the cost of the trip. But there were quite a few adults chaparones watching over all the boys pretty closely. Most of the one's I've seen online they were behind tables and were "Guarded" by Big Ben, Sam C. and Steven G.
I know when I was in line talking with some other fans, I myself was rather disturbed. Some of the men I was chatting with were just plain creepy.

Glad i am not alone in this. At Arundel my dad went with me for company but didnt do the concert and so many older males( over 50) went up to my dad like he was the fan and when they realised i was the fan they just walked away. I mean the 22 year old female could not possiebly be the fan lol. So i found that quite odd and sinister by its self that these people did not want to interact with the girl but my father was clearly fine.

You have to be very careful about blacklisting the whole of the male community that attends any Libera concert, just because you have your assumptions that there might be a few weirdo's out there.
There will always be a section of society that will spoil it for the rest of the genuine people who attend with the best of intentions. A lone male attending a Libera concert should not be made to feel guilty for doing so. Are they not allowed to appreciate and feel affected by the music the boys sing, than any other section of society?
Maybe the guy just wanted to be friendly, and saw your dad on his own so thought he would approach him to have a conversation. It's a normal thing to do after a concert, you just want to talk about what you've seen. Then after realising that he was there with his daughter, didn't want to feel he was intruding.
It's not always healthy to view situations from such a dark and sinister perspective.

Speaking to fans that have been doing concerts for years even they admit there are some odd ball fans. There have been well known incidents with a few sinster fans that have scared the boys. So no its not everybody but there are some and its a shame that stuff like this goes on around the boys and the whole fan base (espically in this country) is tarred with the same brush. Thats why there are such strict rules in place to protect the boys.JimmyRiddle wrote:You have to be very careful about blacklisting the whole of the male community that attends any Libera concert, just because you have your assumptions that there might be a few weirdo's out there.
