Spring Lineup and song list.

Post by paul »

So spring is almost upon us, and the start of this years series of concerts. What songs and changes to the lineup do you predict. What songs would you like to appear in the set-list.

Every time I have predicted the lineup, I have been wrong, so on this occasion ill be leaving that to the people in the know.

I would like to see Far away again on the song list. I'm pretty sure Yorkie would agree with me, Voca Me was great in NI and St Georges and I would like to see that again this year.

Something new would be nice. Was Song of Life the last new song? That was about 20 months ago. I suppose one could argue that 2011's Christmas album consisted of old standards done in a completely new style, but then it would still have been about 14 months since we had a new song.

Yes! Something new would be nice, but even something old that they have not performed live. I would like to see Vespera on the song list, not improbable. Did we ever expect to see Voca me last year?

I do think it is time we saw new material but its doubtful . Look at the Peace cover and Libera has changed dramatically since then. Not including the Xmas album due to that have Xmas songs which would not be appropriate in anything but xmas concerts .

I still really want Ave Virgo to be sung in a concert as its such a stunning song. Evening Falls would be nice , Lead Kindly Light . Santus 2 , Sempiterna , Silncium , Sings forever , Song of life , Time and Adoro Te .

Just my opinion but it seems like there are a ton of great songs on Peace but we are only getting Exsulate , The Fountain , Sanctissima and How Shall i sing . Maybe its time to actually use some of the other songs if there is no new album forth coming . Freshen up the set list with different songs instead of just 2/3 .

Just my 2 pence worth

We did expect Voca at one point but that could of been 2011 as they released a video with it on and then it never happened .

Got to agree Dani, Evening falls is a beautiful song, although it is predominantly a solo piece, Robbert has the talent to weave in some great harmonies to make it a Libera song as a whole.

Wasn't "Grateful Heart" more recent than "Song of Life" ? I wish I could have heard that one, but I couldn't go to those concerts

Actually, Grateful Heart is way older than most Libera songs:

Not a guess at the concert programme, just a list of songs I'd like to hear in a concert.

In no particular order:

1. Mysterium
2. Vespera
3. Stabat
4. Voca Me
5. Lament
6. Twilight
7. Be Still My Soul
8. Stay With me
9. Ave Maria
10. Recordare
11. We are the Lost
12. Sing Forever
13. Love and Mercy
14. Far Away
15. Going Home
16. Time
17. Grateful Heart
18. Evening Falls
19. Carol of the Bells
20. New Day

I don't think too many of those will make the cut!

Thank you so much for posting that video! I had no idea that it was an older song-- just shows you how much I know  I looked on Libera's amazon store, but I couldn't find it in the track listings of any of the older albums there. Was it ever recorded? Mabe on an even earlier album? A beautiful piece, but it seems like a really hard solo to sing. Liam O'Kane did a magnificent job though, and I bet Stefan did magnificently as well

Thanks again for posting!

"Sailing" is another nice one they haven't sung in over a decade.

I had never been to a Libera concert before, and I think I couldn't make it to Taiwan/Korea either
but I wish I could hear Libera sing these songs live someday :
Agnus Dei, Voca Me, Mysterium, Lament, We are the Lost, Veni Sancte.

someday ! *fingers crossed* :D

And for the old songs, I agree that "Evening Falls" is a lovely song hehe. I also like "For the Beauty of the Earth".

So happy to see all the love for Evening Falls, it's such a haunting song. Though I very much doubt if we'll ever hear it live.

Going Home is a strong favourite of mine to return on the setlist. It can be emotionally very rewarding and really make the voices of the soloists stand out, both together and apart.
Other songs I would like to see return are Lament, Faithful Heart and Sancte.

I also would love to hear Mother of God and Something Sings live in concert.
