Performance aboard the Viking liner 'Neptune' May 8, 2023

Post by fan_de_LoK »

A post on Instagram by Liam Connery reveals that a performance is on the way this Monday, May 8, 2023 aboard an ocean liner anchored in Greenwich.
According to specialised tracking sites, it is the liner 'Neptune' from the Viking cruise company.

No details yet on songs and participants.
Let's hope that official information and photos will be published.

It's the 4th time that Libera sings a mini-concert aboard a liner from this company, see this topic (on the French forum) about previous performances.
This concert is the first post-Covid.
May 5, 2016: Viking Sea - Baptism of the boat
May 5, 2018: Viking Sun- Farewell party after a 141-day cruise
July 5, 2019: Viking Sun
May 8, 2023: Viking Neptune - Farewell party after a 137-day cruise

Viking has been a sponsor of Libera for several years. Among other things, Viking had been sponsor of the 2017 USA tour.
Libera is mentioned on the [cultural partners page of 'Viking TV'

30 hours after the event and there is no official post about this performance :?

I searched on socials among some cruise passengers, but found nothing specific about the concert.

Just a confirmation: the internal newsletter 'Viking Daily' of Monday, May 8, 2023, announces the Libera performance "An Evening With Libera" to be held at the Star theater at 6:00 PM.
Sadly, no more details.

Hopefully some minimal info will eventually emerge

Yep photo's are not detailed enough for me to be sure and I think you'll better at identifying the ones you have. Daniel W is obviously present in one of the photo's but it doesn't look like him on the photo with the 14 present. Maybe the lower voices were invited to participate on certain songs? Tricky to be sure.

Well, the only solution is to buy Viking tickets for every cruise on the Thames for the next year and wait for the next opportunity. It might be a little expensive though.

It's the most obvious solution! Now who will be the sacrificial lamb lucky person who would do that for us?

I will save somebody the £££

Isn’t it May when they normally do this event?

So just need to keep a eye every year in May for a cruise appearance

We can have already have that visibility.
Should the context to stay the same, meaning a performance in London to mark the end of a specially long cruise, then we can predict performances to be held aboard the Viking 'Sky' on Sunday 5 of May 2024, and somewhere on the 4, 5 or 6 of May 2025.
Concert ticket starts at $55,000, with a 4 months cruise to occupy you before the 1st song :)

Wonder what made her to delete her post :?
We can imagine that there was a message of 'no photo no video' given to the audience and that one of her friend reminded it to her, but why to enforce it so strictly?
The sponsoring relation between Viking and libera is publicly know and both Viking and libera had posted photos of their previous collaborations. Strange.

It looks like Libera have done their annual performance going by Facebook.

It was the Viking Sky World Cruise and looks like it would of been the 4th May that it docked at Greenwich.
