Rumor about Libera being in Nightwish album
I saw a rumor about this online, but I have no idea if it's true. Nightwish is releasing an album this Fall called Yesterwynde. One of the tracks was just released and is titled "The Day Of...". It does feature what sounds like a boys choir. It's quite a powerful song, but with some disturbing lyrics.

Where did you read such a rumor ? I could not find anything myself.
I love the song did not sound very much like Libera though...

Is the rumor based on anything? For example, could it be a different boy's choir on the recording?

Re: Rumor about Libera being in Nightwish album
I’ve just listened to the track "The Day Of..." from Nightwish's upcoming album Yesterwynde --> Here on Youtube.
In my opinion, the children's choir featured in the song doesn’t quite sound like Libera.
The vocal tone and style don't seem to match Libera's distinctive sound, so I personally don’t think it’s them.
Additionally, some Google searches do show results linking Nightwish and "Libera," but this appears to be a coincidence due to the conjugation of the Portuguese verb "liberar" (meaning to release) rather than a reference to the choir itself.
Feel free to keep an eye on some metal sites (https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/N ... de/1235952) or Discogs in the coming days for more detailed credits. But for now, I personally doubt that Libera is involved.

Nope, it wasn't Libera.
And I am sure about that, because I happen to know who it was...

Nice tune too, I really like it.

It stays ... in the family somehow, well, more or less.
Anyway, rumours should be posted with a source. I came too late, Citlec beat me to it, but anyway, this would have been a line-up going more into details, but still without mentioning the choir's name we now know.

I actually forgot initially, but when looking for info I saw the orchestra and choirs had been recorded at Abbey Road, and I listened again... and a tiny spark of a memory lit up...
edit: btw you'll notice there are in fact no familiar faces other than one ex member... and that is of course because the recording happened on a Saturday and this was only a week before all the other ones went to Japan...

Re: Rumor about Libera being in Nightwish album
I forgot about that post by cvmsmusic. Anyways, this was a nice showcase of their voices. It was much more than backing vocals. It seems that a lot of Nightwish fans from the past are really trashing the group and their current musical style. I understand that some band members left the group in recent times.
Re: Rumor about Libera being in Nightwish album
Nightwish have come up occasionally for me in the past, as I know the name, but I'm entirely unfamiliar with their music. Yeah I saw the many many comments from old fans whinging about their new style. For this track, in general, the negative comments seem to focus on the fact their singer Floor Jansen doesn't get enough prominence vocally, at least in their opinions. Little do those fans know they have a singer in that choral mix with his own No.1 Classical album...
But although there are negative comments about the change of style, there are also many many positive comments about the track. Several reaction videos for the song (I find reaction videos quite boring, so I was unaware there are SO many channels doing that...) and on a very brief flick through, the comments they give are generally positive.
Personally having no knowledge of their old repertoire I thought this track was amazing! Albeit, I admit to a little bias...
