Funny enough, I actually think his voice would be quite well suited for Ben Crawley's Semele. What do you think?
My favorite covers of our hero would probably be:
1) Never Be Alone
2) O Sanctissima (A capella)
3) Do not stand at my grave and weep
I like his version of Never Be Alone because his voice is so incredibly CLEAR in that one! Even the wicked high notes!
I like O Sanctissima because I appreciate how incredibly, harmonically complex that song is. He sung it practically pitch-perfect! Not a note out of tune!
I like Do Not Stand because it's a song that's mostly solo. He has a very nice sense of musicality - the shaping of the phrases was very well done. I'll also admit that I like his slight vibrato...makes him sound VERY Ben Crawley-ish, and Ben was one of my favorite soloists.
Edit: I can't believe I forgot The Fountain!!!! Yarrrgh! So many favorites...so little lines.
